FIRST ANNIVERSARY: paper (Suggestions:) How about a savings bond inside that card that sets atop that box of chocolates?
At one time I suggested stocks and bonds, but now. . . How about a deed to a piece of property?

SECOND ANNIVERSARY: cotton (Suggestions:) cotton panties with the days of the week on them?

THIRD ANNIVERSARY: leather (Suggestions:) leather handbag, shoes, gloves, wallet, etc.

FOURTH ANNIVERSARY: fruits, flowers or linen (Suggestions:) fruit baskets, bouquets of flowers or some linen napkins

FIFTH ANNIVERSARY: wood (Suggestions:) wooden candle holders, wooden bowls, wooden decor, wooden funiture
(If you've gotten this far, it is cause for real celebration! Most marriages disintigrate during the first five years!)

SIXTH ANNIVERSARY: sugary sweets or iron--now that's an interesting combination! (Suggestions:) a small box of chocolates, candied fruit, cast iron cookware, iron scroll work, iron candelabra, etc.

SEVENTH ANNIVERSARY: copper or wool (Suggestion:) copper jewelry, copper-clad cookware, copper lamps, candle holders, and copper decor

EIGHTH ANNIVERSARY: bronze (Suggestions:) bronze statuettes, bronze wall hangings, bronze jewelry

NINTH ANNIVERSARY: willow or pottery (Suggestions:) If you have a big yard, plant a willow tree; if you don't have a large yard consider, contacting
your local department of parks and recreation and see if a willow could be planted in alocal park
with a plaque honoring the two of you. Anything made of pottery-- wall hangings,dishes, bells, etc.

TENTH ANNIVERSARY: aluminum or tin (Suggestions:) (I do not recommend aluminum cookware--there is and has been controversery over the connection with heavy metals including aluminum and the development of Alzheimer's Disease) aluminum serving trays, aluminum decor and figurines; For tin--tin candleholders, tin figurines, tin decor, storage tins, etc.
